Family Mentoring Program

Description
Child and Family Services exist to protect and support children and to encourage families to be strong and healthy. Voluntary Support Services Agreements are meant to help your family when there is no other help available from family, friends or other community services.

Child and Family Services Committees assist the Government of in making decisions about children and families. They work together with Child Protection Workers, children and families facing child protection issues. Volunteers for this program will mentor children and families - particularly in the areas of education and financial stability.

Information for Young People is available to help young people understand their rights and the services they may access.

Children in the NWT are protected through the Child and Family Services Act. The following brochures provide more information about child protection:
